The Boone House began as a one-room, one-story log house built by Squire Boone in 1730, and included a cellar with a spring. Daniel was born in the log house in 1734.

Today's log cabins are often spacious and elegant, but through out our history log cabins reflected the hardships of life in North America.
Log cabins were used widely in areas of Europe, especially in Germany, Switzerland, and the Scandinavian countries.
